I grew up with radio and had my sights set on landing a job on the air from the age of 10.
After getting involved with my local hospital station, FAB (Friends At your Bedside- see what they did there!), by my early twenties I was playing records from a DJ booth suspended from the ceiling of Manchester's Arndale Centre on Radio Top Shop. Never quite got over the vertigo though, so I was tempted down and went on to work on local radio stations across England and Wales and even spent three years in Ireland too.
I was one of the team to present on Britain's first country music radio station in 1994, and in 2002 put together a brand new station Rugby FM in Warwickshire.
More recently I became the voice of travel news for thousands of commuters all over the country with Talksport, before moving back up north to join Magic in 2008.
Honoured and proud to have become a regular and familiar voice on the radio for over 25 years, I still love all sorts of music from across the decades (possibly most passionately the 80s).
I'm rather partial to hot curries, the odd hot pudding and lashings of custard with it!
