Describe yourself in ten words.
Proud Yorkshireman. Refuses to grow up. Evil Genius. Great Mate!
How did you get into radio?
I started in hospital radio aged 14 and worked my way up by volunteering in any way I could.
I’ve worked in community radio and commercial radio across Yorkshire for thirty years. I really love local radio and all it has to offer.
Which celebrity are you often confused with?
I’d like to say Ryan Reynolds, but the truth is more like Bungle from Rainbow.
If you weren’t a Radio Presenter, what would you like to be?
I’ve done everything I ever wanted to do. I’ve been a Personal Trainer and a SCUBA diving instructor. I really love being a radio presenter, and that’s why I’m still doing it almost thirty years after I first started.
What’s your greatest achievement?
I cycled 1000 miles from Land’s End to John o’Groats, solo and unsupported. I also hold the world record for the fastest Trans-Pennine crossing by mountain bike.
What do you love about presenting the afternoon show?
Engaging with you is so rewarding. I get such a buzz working hard to keep you up to date with what’s going on, where to go, what to wear if the weather’s on the turn, and which roads to avoid. It’s all for you. I love hearing from you too! It’s so rewarding when you get involved with the show.
How do you relax?
Bubble bath, my Justin Bieber playlist, a jar or Nutella, and a spoon.
What do you do when you’re not on the radio?
I enjoy keeping fit. I also love to travel.
What scares you?
If you could only listen to one song forever, what would it be?
Pet Shop Boys - Left To My Own Devices.
Tell me something about you that nobody else knows.
I once partied late into the night with Kate Winslet at Studio 54 in New York.
