Wakefield MP calls for fashion retailers to sort out their sustainability

Wakefield MP Mary Creagh has called on fashion companies to do more to protect the environment and workers.

The government's Environmental Committee - which Ms Creagh chairs - has found some major retailers are not doing enough to support sustainable green targets, or their staff.

Mary Creagh says 'there has to be a change'.

JD Sports, TK Maxx, Amazon, Sports Direct, Boohoo and Missguided are named in the report as being the “least engaged”.

Amazon has declined to comment - while Boohoo and JD have defended their ethical records.
