'Good' rating for two council run care homes in Wakefield district

The Care Quality Commission carried out unannounced visits in December and January.

Staff at Dovecote Lodge and Hazel Garth Care Homes have been praised for treating residents with dignity and respect.

Councillor Pat Garbutt, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, said: “We are delighted the CQC have recognised the quality of care we provide for our care home residents.

“I’d like to thank the staff for the effort and thought they put in on a daily basis, to make sure residents are given the opportunity to live in a supported and caring environment.

“As a Council we face many challenges to our budgets and the services we can provide. These ratings show that we work hard to overcome these pressures and are committed to providing the best care.”
