A charity has seen a rise in people in the Wakefield District needing help.

A Wakefield charity that supports vulnerable people at risk of homelessness says it's expecting to be busy throughout 2019.

The District's Community Awareness Programme,known as CAP has seen a five per cent increase on daily demand, compared to the previous year.

Project Manager Kevin Dobson says even more people are struggling.  

They gave out 1033 hampers, mainly to youngsters over the festive period.
