West Yorkshire Police slammed for shaming homeless couple after seizing their car

The force's Road Policing Units mocked the couple in a tweet showing them carrying their luggage with nowhere else to go.

West Yorkshire Police have been forced to apologise after a series of tweets that shamed homeless people who were living out of their cars.

Officers from the force's Roads Policing Units have faced a backlash on social media over the tweets, which stated they'd seized the vehicles for being uninsured but also included hashtags like #luggagewalkofshame and #carinsurancenothomeinsurance.

Twitter users slammed the force's behaviour as 'disgusting'.
