Tour De Yorkshire 2018

The 2018 Tour De Yorkshire comes to the Wakefield District on Friday 4 May as Stage 2 passes through the area on its way from Barnsley to Ilkley.

The race will enter the district at South Elmsall before travelling through Ackworth and Pontefract and leaving at Castleford as part of the 149 km stage. Earlier in the day, the second and final stage of the Women's Event will also pass through the area on the same route.

As in previous years local communities will be decorating the route with flags, bunting and those famous yellow bicycles in shop windows, front gardens and along the roadside.
