Dragon Boat Challenge and Fun Day at Pugneys Park Wakefield

Welcome to the 7th annual DRAGON BOAT CHALLENGE - The North East's premier Dragon Boat Festival
Taking place from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday 11 July 2015 at Pugneys Country Park in Wakefield

Organised by the Rotary Clubs of Huddersfield and Wakefield Chantry, 2015 will be the seventh annual running of this hugely popular festival and YOU can be a part of it.

To enter a team you need enough people to man one of the Chinese Dragon Boats, 16 paddlers and a drummer, so around 20 people would be a good number. This allows you to rotate the crew members to paddle in at least 3 heats during the day and then an exciting 6 boat final for the honour of being crowned champions of the day! Click here to download an entry form

There are also medals for the 2nd and 3rd places as well as trophies for the best dressed team and for the fastest team made up of a majority of ladies.

All you have to do is enter a boat (see the entry form for details) and for individual paddlers to generate a minimum of £50 in personal sponsorship towards a charity of your choice and the charities being supported by the Rotary Clubs on the day.

So, get your entries in and come along, have a super day out and support some really worthwhile causes.

There is plenty of FREE PARKING for visitors as well (see the Location page for detail) and all are welcome to come along and enjoy the day. There will be a brochure for the day will be sold at the event and via teams and volunteers in the 2 weeks before. The brochure gives everyone the opportunity to win one of 3 magnificent prizes worth up to £1200. The winners can get their prize on the day or the winning brochure numbers will be published on www.rotarydragonboatchallenge.org site 48 hours after the event.
