This sponsored abseil event includes a charity fun day with staff, family, friends and a previous patient completing the abseil from Wakefield Cathedral on the 1st September 2018. The event will also include tombola stall, cake stall, balloon artist, body and face glitter artist, games for the family, raffle, REACT information stand and Age UK information stand.

The new Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit opened in September 2017 at Pinderfields General Hospital, it provides care for individuals who are frail and vulnerable who may require further support and assessments to promote a safe and timely discharge. We recognised as a unit we need to generate income to enable us to take our service to a higher level for providing individualised care, therefore as a team we decided to run the Wakefield Cathedral abseil event in the hope of generating income to support us in achieving our goal for the benefit of our Patients and Families.
Our aspirations include creating a welcoming Patient and Family room, this will enable us to deliver a more dignified and private space whereby the Clinicians can work with Patients and family in a time of need.
